The Hubs

Where the World's Furniture Is Actually Built.

China is a stack of specialized clusters. Outdoor and garden product leans on Guangdong, but seating, hardware, and shade each have their own home — here's the map, and where we stand.

01
Zhejiang
The seating & hardware belt
AnjiAnji
China's chair capital

Anji

China's chair industry town — the world's largest office-chair base, and roughly one in three chairs made in China. Deep seating capacity for office, leisure, and outdoor chairs.

YongkangYongkang
Hardware & BBQ grills

Yongkang

China's hardware capital and a BBQ-grill production base. The tubes, burners, and grates behind gas and charcoal programs come from here.

NingboNingbo
Cast aluminum + port

Ningbo

Cast-aluminum outdoor furniture and a major export port. Heavy cast frames with a direct route for consolidation.

Fujian
Wood, umbrellas & shade
ZhangzhouZhangzhou · Quanzhou
Patio furniture & shade

Zhangzhou · Quanzhou

Outdoor wood, umbrellas, and shade structures. Strong for natural-material lines, sunscreen, and architectural shade.

Ports
FCL consolidation & freight
ShenzhenShenzhen · Guangzhou · Ningbo
Where containers load

Shenzhen · Guangzhou · Ningbo

Direct port access for FCL consolidation and reliable, schedulable ocean freight — hauling, packing, and vessel booking in one hand.

Materials & Compliance

The Spec Sheet Behind a Defensible Program.

Outdoor furniture is a hardware problem, not a decorative one. These are the materials to specify — and the tests that prove they hold up.

The Reality

The Product Isn't the Problem. Supply-Chain Failure Is.

More programs fail in the supply chain than on the drawing board. These are the three failures that do the damage — and how each one is engineered out.

03
The Failure

Multi-supplier chaos erodes your margin.

Three factories, three purchase orders, three partial containers. Every handoff costs communication, questions, and schedule — and the freight spread gets paid twice.

The Fix

One consolidated mixed-load program.

Heavy grills and bulky-but-light woven sofas combine into a single container — dense metal in the bottom, volume up top — to save 15–25% on freight and cut the handoffs to zero.

The Failure

Quality problems surface at the port.

The container arrives and the defect is already paid for. Rail the carts, wobbly welds, and off-spec textile get discovered on your customer’s dock, not the factory floor.

The Fix

Quality gates before the container sails.

Multi-gate in-line checks through production, a pre-shipment inspection to AQL 2.5, and a signed QC doc — so defects stop at the factory.

The Failure

Untested packaging destroys the product in transit.

For e-commerce and FBA sellers, a carton that wasn’t drop-tested is the silent budget-killer — elevated damage, RMA, and chargebacks long after the PO closes.

The Fix

Engineered, drop-tested flat-pack.

ISTA 3A drop testing and flat-pack redesign bring retail damage under 2% — the packaging survives, and so does your margin.

The Solution

We Solve What Breaks a Season. The Supply Chain.

China has the product. The risk is in how it's bought. We replace three suppliers, three POs, and three partial containers with one accountable program, so the product actually lands the way you specified it.

The Process

Four Steps From Open PO to Landed Container.

One accountable team, four gates, zero handoffs — with a signed QC doc at the end instead of a dispute across twelve time zones.

1

Requirement & Line Plan

Product mix, target FOB, market compliance, and volumes — written down with the gaps identified before you commit.

2

Factory Audit & Sample

We qualify the floor in person, then build against a signed sample — so the first off-tool piece matches the spec, not a guess.

3

Production & QC

Multi-gate in-line checks and batch numbers trace every unit, signed off before the container sails.

4

Consolidation & Delivery

Mixed-load FCL with packaging engineered for transit — a single container that lands on time, under one accountable team.

Who This Guide Helps

Four Ways to Buy From the China Furniture Market.

The market doesn't hand every buyer the same problem. A brand, a retail chain, an FBA seller, and a hotel project each source differently — here's how each one buys smarter.

FAQ

Questions High-Intent Buyers Actually Ask.

The China furniture market, in the questions buyers actually ask — its scale, its clusters, the standards, and the numbers that matter.

08
01 Why does so much of the world's outdoor furniture come from China?

Scale and concentration. China is the world's largest furniture producer, and the depth of factories, tooling, and material suppliers in a single corridor is unmatched. That concentration is why one sourcing trip can qualify a full line plan — instead of hunting one SKU at a time.

02 Where is China's outdoor & garden furniture actually made?

It clusters by province. Guangdong (Foshan · Shunde and Zhongshan) carries the outdoor core — frames, tube work, powder coat, and grills. Zhejiang has Anji (China's chair capital), Yongkang (hardware & grills), and Ningbo (cast aluminum + port). Fujian (Zhangzhou · Quanzhou) does wood, umbrellas, and shade — and the ports consolidate the FCL.

03 Do Chinese furniture factories meet international quality standards?

Reputable ones do, and the proof is in the documents: ISO 9001 quality systems, BSCI social compliance audits, per-batch material/spectrometer test reports, and market gas certification (CE / CSA / AGA) where required. We also run a signed AQL 2.5 pre-shipment inspection before any container sails.

04 What's the realistic minimum order?

MOQs are set per SKU and depend on the product — smaller for garden accessories, larger for cast frames and heavy metalwork. We consolidate multiple SKUs into one mixed-load FCL, and a first phase can be sized to a single container before the mix grows.

05 How fast are samples and production from China?

First technical response within 48 hours. First off-tool sample usually lands 10–18 days after the mold is cut. Production is indicative 6–8 weeks and is locked to your window after sample approval — a confirmed quote states a locked date, not a range.

06 How do I protect my design when sourcing from China?

Work on a non-disclosure / non-circumvention (NNN) agreement, keep your mold on an independent tooling account, and ensure the factory never reuses a private mold across clients. OEM and ODM programs are both supported.
